A Nickelodeon show that on the surface looks pretty generic. Which…I can’t fully say it isn’t. Some of the jokes and plot threads, you can see coming a mile away. With that being said, that is literally the only problem I have with this fun show. Guys, Gals, & Non Binary Pals, this is Animated-Aaron’s Review of ‘The Loud House’. !Background! Lincoln Loud is the only boy in a house with 11 kids. Yep. On top of being the middle child, the other children are girls. Yeah…so the internet has gone nuts with this show. It’s not even long, with just 12 episodes. But, it’s won the hearts of so many people, myself included. I originally didn’t want to watch this show because, well, it looked like a dozen other cliché romantic comedy anime I’ve seen. So after watching it, I can say that…it’s one of the better ones.   Guys, Gals, & Non-Binary Pals, this is Aaron’s Review of Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid. !Background! Okay, so the premise is that a computer programmer, Kobayashi, gets drunk one night and invites a dragon, Tohru (in human form), to live with her as a maid after removing a sword from her back. …anime is weird. Anyway, the series just follows their day to day lives as Tohru gets accustomed to the human world’s rules as well as Kobayashi dealing with more dragons showing up in her town. They’re not there to cause trouble. Just, see why Tohru left and inevitably, find a reason to stay in the human world. !Story! Okay, first things first. Tohru is in love with Kobayashi. Pokémon evil teams. They range from the mafia to eco terrorist to teenagers who couldn’t even steal a bus stop. But no matter the generation, one thing that can be said about the teams, is that they’re entertaining through their simplicity. For the most part. While the teams do have an easy to follow motive and plan (exceptions vary), there’s a lot more depth to these sprites than you may think. Just because the character has 10 facial expressions, doesn’t mean there was only 10 minutes spent writing them. Evil doesn’t have to be complicated. She is trapped in a new game called  (ALO) and it’s up to Kirito to log in and beat the game with the help of a player named Leafa. Who is actually his cousin, Suguha. !Story! Okay, so…where do I begin with what’s wrong with this half of the show? Well, the sudden shift was the first thing that bothered me. The show spent so much time establishing one world with knights and guilds that it comes across as odd that we now have to learn the rules of a new magical world with fairies. Okay, so this show has people split between loving it or hating it. Sending hateful messages to each other and starting flame wars in YouTube comment sections. That being said…here’s my review of it. Guys, Gals, & Non-Binary Pals, this is Animated-Aaron’s review of ‘Sword Art Online’. Pt. 1: (Episodes 1-14) !The Plot! In the year 2022, an online virtual reality game called ‘Sword Art Online’ hits the market and a stream of players log on for the first time. Among them is Kazuto Kirigaya (Kah-zoo-toe Ke-ri-gah-ya) under the screen name “Kirito” (Ker-e-toe). Like the thousands of other players, he finds himself unable to log out meaning he’s trapped. The game’s creator informs them that they are stuck there until they can clear the 100 floors of the game. And because the game is linked to each person’s brain waves, if they die in the game, they die in real life. So it’s up to Kirito to become stronger and beat the game.  !The Story! FLCL was about a kid who thinks he’s being mature by not interacting with others or just being distant but in reality is masking the pain of not having his brother around due to him leaving to become a baseball player. The events that take place in the show is Naota’s call to come of age and stop being scared of breaking out of the box he’s living in.  Everything I just said was never blatantly said in the show. It’s shown visually through the characters facial expressions that can swing from strong to subtle which is a mark of top notch animation and artwork. Every frame is meant to add something. Either it’s to the story or character development. Even the South Park references. Those are just simple jokes that tell the audience a bit more about how serious a character takes something since the switch in animation for the joke is to a less detailed style.
